Overview

Egypt's public procurement statute, governing contracts concluded by public entities for goods, works, services and consultancy. It replaced Law 89/1998, defines procurement methods (public/limited/local/two-stage tender, practice, auction, direct agreement), thresholds, transparency, competition and e-procurement, and the award/evaluation framework. It is the principal vehicle through which public investment projects are tendered and contracted.
