Infrastructure Australia Act 2008

Overview

Establishes Infrastructure Australia as the Commonwealth's independent adviser on nationally significant infrastructure planning and project prioritisation. As amended by the Infrastructure Australia Amendment (Independent Review) Act 2023, it requires IA to develop a national planning and assessment framework (reviewed every five years) and to produce targeted infrastructure priority lists — the statutory basis for national project appraisal and selection (PIMA appraisal/selection; InfraGov).
