Overview

The governing statute for state-owned enterprises organised as holding companies and their subsidiaries (the 'public business sector'). It defines the ownership/holding-company structure, governance and corporate procedures (mergers, divisions, liquidations). Amended by Law No. 185 of 2020, which introduced mechanisms to restructure or close loss-making public companies. Relevant to PIM as it frames investment decisions, governance and rationalisation of SOEs that deliver public capital projects.
